In a recent development, Mirai Labs, the studio behind Pegaxy, a PvP horse racing game, has made the decision to migrate from Polygon to Avalanche. This move comes as a blow to Polygon, as it seems to suggest that the studio found Polygon to be “unreliable” and “non-functional.” Luigi D’Onorio DeMeo, the Head of DeFi at Avalanche, shared this news, highlighting the benefits of Avalanche’s customizable blockchain, which is secured by the mainnet. While this migration is a positive development for Avalanche, it raises questions about the reliability and functionality of Polygon as an Ethereum sidechain. It remains to be seen whether other projects will follow Mirai Labs’ lead and make a similar migration to Avalanche.

As the competition in the blockchain space heats up, platforms like Avalanche and Polygon are looking for ways to differentiate themselves and attract projects to their ecosystems. The migration of Mirai Labs from Polygon to Avalanche could be seen as a vote of confidence in Avalanche’s technology and its ability to provide a more reliable and functional solution. It also raises concerns about the overall reliability of Polygon as a sidechain platform. This move may prompt other projects to reevaluate their choice of blockchain and consider alternatives that offer better performance and security. Overall, this development is a reminder of the rapidly evolving nature of the crypto industry, where platforms rise and fall based on their ability to meet the needs of developers and users.
